NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer grew up in a family of 5 in which he enjoyed gambling on different card games at a young age. He discovered himself getting really aggressive in the above-mentioned card games as he was playing his dad. After graduating from Sr. High school, Howard made a decision to put higher education on hold for a little bit and moved to New York to participate in some formidable chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s initial 2 years were difficult as he would play countless hours and fail to win a majority of the time. He earned some extra cash by becoming an runner for the poker enthusiasts. He judged he might better his game by analyzing his life away from poker. He brought about an effort to get more sleep and focus attention more on poker.

The real improvement in his skills began when he began wagering at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the the most favorable gamblers would regularly play against one another. Howard was able to access some of the foremost minds in chess. With their help, Howard would hone his strategic thinking skills. Howard used these strategic concepts in the game of NL Texas Holdem.

Howard Lederer also helped his sibling Annie Duke master poker. Annie Duke was a great student of poker as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the proper choice. He told Annie to move out to Las Vegas and play in the World Series of Poker competition. She is one of the greatest women players the poker arena today. Howard moved to Sin City in 1993 and played cash games for the next decade. When the World Poker Tournament gained popularity, he decided to participate in more tournaments.
