NL Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by many of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandfather taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to pickup every little thing he could about poker. He routinely would tell his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the detrimental feedback from other people annihilate his dream of being one of the best poker players on the planet.

He began competing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to hard work and an eternal love for poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his achievements. He knows he makes blunders every single game of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a regular basis.
