NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker contender on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandpa showed him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup whatever he possibly could about poker. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the negative feedback from other people kill his goal of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started playing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching period and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable love for poker. He states that he’s learning every day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making blunders every single session of poker and always strives to get better.

Even though Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a regular basis.
