Poker is an acclaimed game that has a fan base of millions and millions of ardent players throughout the world. The game is comprised of gamblers looking at their personal hands before attempting to determine what cards the competing players have. The different versions of poker games are Hold’em, Seven Card Stud, Omaha Poker, the Hi/Lo version, Five Card Stud, and Five Card Draw. The term ‘aces up’ refers to a pair of aces and another pair. ‘Active player’ ordinarily means a player who is still absolutely involved in a hand. ‘All blue and all Pink’ alludes to a gambler has a hand made up of all spades, clubs, diamonds, or hearts. ‘Blank card’ refers to a card that has little importance in the hand. The phrase, ‘deal’ references the act of assigning cards to players or maintaining the cards on the boards. It applies to the complete process from breaking the deck to dealing of the cards and until the chips has been won, thus ending that deal.

Other familiar terms employed in the game of poker are discard, drawing dead, flop, Fourth Street, kicker, lock up, loose game, and muck. It’s critical to reference an accurate list of poker terms when learning to play the game. There are poker websites that are completely dedicated to giving data about regularly employed poker terms.
